Where we work across Sussex and Surrey

Our workshop is at 2 Western Road in Lancing, roughly midway between Shoreham-by-Sea and Worthing and a couple of minutes off the A27. That position is the reason our coverage looks the way it does. The coastal strip from Littlehampton across to Brighton is within easy reach for a survey and a fit on the same run, and the A24 and A283 take us north to Steyning, Storrington and Horsham without much trouble.

We do not subcontract fitting to local installers in outlying areas. If we say we cover somewhere, it means our own team drives there. That puts a practical limit on how far we go, and we would rather be honest about it than take a job in Kent and let someone else represent us badly.

The coastal towns

Lancing is home. The workshop and the showroom are both here, so if you want to see glass colours and finishes in daylight before committing, this is where you come. Worthing is five minutes west and is our single busiest area, covering Goring-by-Sea, Broadwater, Tarring, Durrington and Findon Valley. Shoreham-by-Sea is five minutes east, including the harbour and the houseboat moorings on the Adur. Littlehampton sits further west along the coast, and Hove and Brighton lie east.

Coastal work has one consistent complication and it is worth understanding before you get quotes. Salt-laden air attacks stainless steel fittings. The grade normally supplied for balustrades and canopies is 304 stainless, which is fine inland and will pit and tea-stain within a couple of years on an exposed seafront elevation. On genuinely exposed installs we specify 316 marine grade instead, and where wind loading justifies it we go up a thickness on the laminated glass. It adds a modest amount to the materials cost and it is the difference between a balustrade that still looks right in year five and one that does not.

Inland and the Downs villages

Steyning and Storrington sit under the South Downs and have a very different housing stock: a lot of period property, a lot of it listed or inside a conservation area. That changes what is possible. Replacement double glazing is usually out of the question on a listed frontage, which makes secondary glazing the realistic route to warmer, quieter rooms, and it is genuinely reversible, which is what conservation officers want to hear. Restoration work also concentrates here: matching old glass, reworking leaded lights, reputtying rather than beading.

Horsham is our furthest regular town north and the mix shifts again, towards extensions, rooflights and larger new-build projects.

Wider county coverage

Beyond the named towns we work across West Sussex generally, into East Sussex as far as our own team can reasonably reach, and into Surrey by arrangement. For Surrey and the eastern edge of East Sussex, larger jobs make more sense than a single small item, simply because of travel. If you are on the boundary, ring and ask rather than assuming. We will tell you straight if it is not practical.

What is the same everywhere

The survey is free and it is a real survey, not a salesperson with a tablet. Bespoke work is templated rather than measured off a drawing. Everything is cut, edged and finished at the Lancing workshop. Our own installers fit it. The quote is written and itemised before any work starts.

All thirteen services are available across every area listed above. There is no reduced menu for the outlying towns.

Emergencies

Broken glass does not wait for a survey. For emergency repairs and board-ups we respond fastest along the Lancing, Worthing, Shoreham and Hove corridor, usually the same day and often within a couple of hours during working hours. Further out, we will always tell you honestly on the phone how quickly we can realistically be there rather than promising an hour and arriving at six.
