Walk-on rooflight over a basement light well, Brighton
- Size1.2m × 1.2m structural triple-laminate
- Lead time5 weeks from order to install
A rooflight floods a room with daylight from above. We design and install flat rooflights, lantern rooflights and walk-on glass for flat roofs across Sussex. Our team handles the survey, the structural sizing, the glass spec, the install and the building regulations sign-off. Lantern rooflights and walk-on glass start higher.
Most rooflight failures we see come from a botched upstand or an under-spec glass build-up. We size every rooflight to the spans involved, provide stamped structural calculations, and stay involved through to building control sign-off. Walk-on glass especially: we will not quote on dimensions alone.
The biggest single use we see. A flat rooflight in the middle of a kitchen extension turns a dim back-of-house room into the brightest part of the home.
Velux-style and bespoke fixed lights for sloping roofs.
A small rooflight in a landing or hallway adds enormous daylight benefit for relatively low cost.
Flat rooflights you can stand on. Used for inset basement light wells, terrace lighting and modern architectural details.
Send us your measurements or a sketch and we will recommend the system that suits the substrate, the spec and the budget.

A multi-pane raised structure that looks like a Victorian conservatory roof. Used over kitchen islands and dining tables in single-storey extensions.
Toughened laminated structural glass with a slip-resistant finish, sized to take walking loads. Used in basement light wells and rooftop terraces.
Electric-opening flat lights, useful for ventilation and smoke escape. We can integrate with smart home control where required.

Glass is sized to the spans involved, with a Document A and (for walk-on) Document K calculation pack supplied with the quote.
Glass cut, toughened and laminated at our supply chain partners; self-cleaning coating applied to the outer pane. Two to four weeks typical.
